Former manager of Chelsea, Jose Mourinho has revealed that he has stopped watching the club’s games at Stamford Bridge and also the games of Benfica.

Jose Mourinho started his managerial career at Benfica in 2000 but didn’t stay there for too long before he moved to other clubs and then landed at Chelsea in 2004.

While at the Premier League club, he introduced the Stamford Bridge club to a series of successes and made them a household name in European football even though he didn’t win any continental competitions with them.

Mourinho first left Chelsea in 2007 and returned to the club in 2013. Unfortunately, his second spell which ended in 2015 was not as resounding as his first spell.

Despite that, most fans of the club believe the 61-year-old Portuguese tactician can fix the team which has been a shadow of its former self since last season.

At some point this season, the fans often chant his name during games especially when the team is losing a match at Stamford Bridge to influence the club’s owners to re-appoint him.

Mourinho said the chanting has discouraged him from attending football games at Stamford Bridge.

“In London, I live two minutes from Chelsea’s stadium, from my house you can hear the goals and people’s demonstrations”, Jose Mourinho told the Portuguese publication, A Bola.

“The day the stadium started singing my name, I stopped going to football. I have to go to other stadiums.

“It takes 20-30 minutes from my [other] house to [Benfica’s stadium] Luz. I went to two or three games.

“They started asking questions like [will you become manager] and I’m not going anymore. They screwed my life up with those questions.”

Canadian left-back, Alphonso Davies said the songs of Nigerian music icon, Davido are among the songs he often uses to prepare for football matches.

Alphonso Davies is arguably one of the most wanted wingbacks in the world due to his pace, tackling, dribbling, and ability to score goals from tight angles.

The 23-year-old defender who is a citizen of both Liberia and Canada, left the United States club, Vancouver, for Bayern Munich on January 1, 2019, for a transfer fee worth €14 million.

In a video the official Instagram page of the German Bundesliga posted earlier in the week, Davies was seen making a list of songs that keep him motivated before football matches.

The Canada international said, “If I could only have five songs that I could listen to before games? That’s very tough! Okay, number one is ‘Nonstop’ by Drake, number two is ‘Fein’ by Travis Scott, number three is ‘Tombstone’ by Rod Wave, number four is ‘Legend Can Never Die’ by Davido, and number five is ‘No Competition’ by also Davido.”

Alphonso Davies played 41 games for Bayern Munich this season in which he scored 2 goals and provided 6 assists in all competitions. His current contract with Bayern will expire on June 30, 2025.

Arsenal goalkeeper, Aaron Ramsdale seems to be set to leave the north London side after a difficult 2023-2024 season.

Ramsdale started his professional football career at Sheffield United before he moved to Bournemouth on January 31, 2017. He had loan spells at Chesterfield FC, and AFC Wimbledon before he returned to his childhood club, Sheffield United on August 19, 2021.

In his second spell at Sheffield United, the 26-year-old English goalkeeper was so good that Arsenal decided to pay €28 million for his services on August 20, 2021.

Ramsdale became an instant success at Arsenal as he was made the club’s first-choice goalkeeper in his debut season. He went on to make 78 appearances in his first two seasons.

The 2022-2023 season was arguably the best of his football career as he led Arsenal to battle for the Premier League title to the very end. Unfortunately, they lost it to Manchester City.

However, his fortunes turned negative ahead of the 2023-2024 season as coach Mikel Arteta decided to sign Spanish goalkeeper, David Raya on loan from Brentford.

Raya’s loan deal came with an option for a permanent deal which the goalkeeper and the Gunners are open to signing due to his prolific form at the club.

Note that Raya is the winner of the Premier League Golden Gloves this season after keeping 13 clean sheets for the Gunners.

Hence, Ramsdale has reportedly concluded that he might never regain his spot as Arsenal’s goalkeeperc under the watch of coach Mikel Arteta who seems to prefer Raya over any other goalkeeper.

Note that Ramsdale has managed to make just six Premier League appearances for Arsenal this season and that trend might continue if he remains at the club next season.

A report by Sky Sports claimed that Arsenal are willing to allow Aaron Ramsdale to leave if he chooses to and the English star is open to leaving the Emirates Stadium this summer.

Currently, Newcastle United are said to be the frontrunners for the signature of the 25-year-old goalie and they might close the deal in the first week of the summer transfer window.

Sky Sports’ James Green said Aaron Ramsdale has agreed to a deal with Newcastle United ahead of the summer transfer window even though he still has two years left in his contract with Arsenal.
