Recall that Victor Boniface moved to mainstream Europe when he left Royale Union Saint-Gilloise to German Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen for a transfer fee worth over €20 million in the summer transfer window.

Thanks to his incredible seven goals and three assists in eight Bundesliga games, he has won the league’s Player of the Month and Rookie of the Month titles in August and September.

Boniface is currently third in the Bundesliga’s 2023–2024 goalscorers chart with seven goals in eight games, behind only Serhou Guirassy of VfB Stuttgart (14 goals) and Harry Kane of Bayern Munich (9 goals).

Leverkusen are top of the Bundesliga table after eight games, largely due to the 22-year-old’s exceptional season debut.

His outstanding performance helped his market value to soar to an unprecedented €40 million. He is now second to first place Victor Osimhen of Napoli (€120 million), as the Super Eagles’ most valuable player.

Due to Boniface’s form, he has attracted the attention of Newcastle United, Real Madrid and a host of other top European clubs.
