Popular Nollywood actress Eniola Ajao makes history as her first cinematic creation “Ajakaju” – Beasts of Two Worlds, makes a record-breaking 16M in cinemas on the first day.

The latest development was shared by FilmOne Entertainment via its verified page on the photo and video sharing platform Instagram today, March 30 2024.

Recall that the cinema movie, “Ajakaju” produced by Eniola Ajao was released into cinema nationwide on Friday March 29th 2024, this comes after the movie becomes one of the trending conversations online after organizers awarded Bobrisky the Best Dressed Female at the movie premiere held on Sunday March 24th and was also given N1M.

However, the announcement did not sit down well with many including Dayo Amusa and Portable who dragged Bobrisky over the award. Femi Adebayo was also dragged for announcing Bobrisky as the winner.

The matter escalated to the extent that Portable and Bobrisky berates each other on social media and Eniola Ajao had to come in.

According to Eniola, Bobrisky was given the Best Dressed Female so as to make the movie popular stressing that it was an intentional act.

She however begged Nigerians for forgiveness as she disclosed that she spent over N200M on the movie as she sold her cars, land and properties to finance the movie.

In an emotional video, Eniola Ajao makes a U-Turn as she announces new winners for the female Best Dressed and will receive N1M each

“To Bobrisky, I offer my sincere apologies for putting you in a difficult position. The decision to award you was never meant to cause harm or controversy but was rather a misguided attempt to generate publicity for our movie. I am truly sorry for any distress this may have caused you.

“In an effort to make amends and correct my mistakes, I have decided to honor Papaya Ex and Iyabo Ojo as the best-dressed females at the premiere. Each will receive a sum of N1,000,000(One Million Naira) as a token of my sincere apology and appreciation for their grace and elegance.”

The cinema run of AJAKAJU, #beastoftwoworlds has taught me lessons, lessons I will not forget in a hurry. But this is not the time to dish out the lessons because I am not yet an expert at the box office! Leave that to @funkejenifaakindele , @odunomoadekola, @femiadebayosalami, @iyaboojofespris @niyi_akinmolayan , @toyin_abraham and @realmercyaigbe What I am here to do today is to say THANK YOU. Nigerians, I am grateful. You allowed God to use you to turn my shame into testimony, sorrow into joy, and fear into courage. Eshe gan. I am glad we made 16m in one day, what an opening! But it is important I let you all know that this place I am in now is a journey that started before today. I am grateful to my dearest Boss @odunladeadekola for taking me under his wings and leading me through this part. He co-directed this movie, loan me money, and was there through and through. My Nollywood story won’t be complete without him. Eshe gan. To my daddy @adebayotijani, thank you for being a good director. You helped me succeed.

I am grateful to my colleagues from the Yoruba industry for standing by me, for posting, for reaching out, for meet and greet, and many other things. I am grateful to fans who have sent gifts, money, and offered moral support. God bless you. To my boss @femiadebayosalami and his beautiful wife @iyanaladuke thank you for your understanding. And to those who were dragged and trolled because of this movie, @dayoamusa , @bobrisky222 , Nollywood, I am sorry but know that this success is for us all. You allowed God to use you to tell a beautiful story about me and Nollywood, Eshe gan. Oun rere la ma ba ara wase. And to those who have said they will not support us—cast and crew—and are waiting for us to fail, I want to appreciate you too. It was because of you that I ran to God and Nigerians. See now, with God and Nigerians behind me, the story will end well. To those I offended, forgive me. I’m just a small girl, treat me like your daughter and sister. Please let’s keep watching #beastoftwoworlds #ajakajuthemovie in all cinemas nationwide. Let’s create a new record together. @ajakajuthemovie.”

However, many netizens find it an issue because they believe that it is a greeting only peculiar to cultists.

See reactions to the video here

@UnkleAyo said: “This is the typical greeting members of the axemen confraternity greet each other with. I’m not seeing anyone ask if Burna boy’s mother doesn’t advise him – or is that moral guidance only relevant to female celebrities, like Ayra star? 🙂
Let’s maintain the same energy. Amen?”

@sales_unwana opined: “That’s normal African greeting only for true African men who understand we are constantly in war against slavery👑”

@Romzy33 warned: “Say no to cultism, Davido and Burna boy are the one’s popularizing these cult activities now, some of their fans can go jolly or Bam because of them”

@NotUrKev asked: “Which kind greetings be that? Shey I fit greet my padi like that?”
