Singer Rema mocks Burna Boy on stage after winning African Artiste of the Year at the 16th Headies Awards ceremony (Video)
Nigerian Afrobeats singer, Divine Ikubor, popularly known as Rema, knocks his senior colleague, Burna Boy, and others who have downgraded the genre, Afrobeats as he gives his award acceptance speech.
Yesterday, the “Calm Down” hitmaker, Rema got fans screaming as he wins African artiste of the year at the Headies Award.
The 16th Headies Awards took place yesterday, September 3rd 2023 at Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre in Atlanta, Georgia.
Rema beats the likes of Burna Boy (Nigeria) Marwa Loud (Morocco) Black Sherif (Ghana) Diamond Platnumz (Tanzania) to the African Artiste of the Year Award.
Nevertheless, Rema left many gushing at his award acceptance speech as he delivered one of the best speeches by any artistes at the Headies Award.
Reacting to other African artistes berating Afrobeats by creating their own genre, Rema said that at the end of the day, they will all meet at the Afrobeats Award.
He further concluded that he is not at the 16th Headies Award because of the given to him rather he is at the award to show his support to the community of Afrobeat.

Singer Portable challenges socialite Cubana Chief Priest to N100m boxing match (Video)
Controversial Nigerian street-hop artiste, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has stirred fresh drama in the entertainment scene by challenging nightlife mogul, Cubana Chief Priest, to a celebrity boxing match.
In a viral video circulating on social media, Portable declared his interest in squaring up with Chief Priest in the ring, not out of animosity, but in pursuit of money and greater fame.
The singer, who recently defeated Speed Darlington in a celebrity boxing bout, said he is now targeting “bigger” opponents to boost his earnings.
“Na money I dey look for. I wan fight for money. I want to be fighting big people, I am bigger than Chief Priest… Chief Priest, did you learn boxing? I want to fight, no be sey I get you for mind. I want to cash money, make we make money together,” Portable stated.
He also proposed a N100 million bet for the match, highlighting the financial opportunity such an event could present for both parties.
