My wife used water from washing her private part to cook my food Ibadan man tells court 696x348 1

The Grade A Customary Court in Mapo, Ibadan, Oyo State, has ordered a fresh hearing notice to be issued and served to a woman, Safiyah, following a lawsuit filed by her husband, Hamzat (surname withheld).

Hamzat accused Safiyah of being stubborn, troublesome, and constantly engaging in fights with him. He also claimed she was diabolic, alleging that, with her mother’s support, she attempted to turn him into a moron.

According to Hamzat, his wife habitually washed her private part and used the water to cook his food. He further accused her of theft, stating that she frequently stole his money and other valuables. Convinced that his life was nearly ruined, Hamzat pleaded with the court to dissolve their marriage

Hamzat also requested a court order restraining Safiyah from harassing, threatening, fighting, or interfering in his private life.

Additionally, he pleaded for custody of their children.

Despite being served multiple court summonses, Safiyah refused to appear in court.

The plaintiff in his testimony said, “My wife and I had a customary marriage.

“I paid N15, 000 to my wife’s parents as her bride price when I went with my family members to ask for her hand in marriage.

“She was handed over to my parents, who in turn gave her to me.

“Our marriage is blessed with three children.

“My wife aborted all the beautiful plans I had for our marriage from the outset of our relationship.

“Safiyat moved into my house and started displaying negative character traits which I believe she hid from me while we were dating.

“My wife is stubborn and always determined to do whatever she wanted.

“She is always very unwilling to change her position on an issue.

“We argue and quarrel almost all the time because she is never ever ready to be submissive to me.

“Safiyat lacks manners. She shouts on me even in the presence of our family members and neighbours.

“I reported her to her mother, who, to my chagrin, saw nothing bad in what her daughter was doing.

“My wife washed her private part and used the water to cook my food.

“Unfortunately for her, her efforts to have me wrapped around her little finger failed.

“My wife frustrated, now makes our home inhabitable for me.

“My lord, my wife is a thief and a bad example to our children.

“She has almost made my business go bankrupt because she steals on a regular basis the money meant to run my business.

“She also ransacks my room and steals my valuables

“Safiyat will refuse to own up even if you put a knife on her neck.

“My lord, l have had enough of my wife’s atrocities.

“I entreat this honourable court to end our relationship and grant me custody of our children.

“I also request an order restraining her from harassing, threatening, fighting, and interfering with my private life.”

A Nigerian businesswoman broke down in tears after officials of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, NAFDAC allegedly raided her boutique, making away with clothes, shoes, and other valuables.

A viral post on X, formerly known as Twitter, captured the distressing moment. In the video, the woman could be heard crying out in agony, lamenting the loss of her goods.

According to her, NAFDAC was responsible for the act, and she pleaded with the government to intervene.

“See my shop oo! This is where I make my money. NAFDAC looted my shop oo! All my clothes are gone. What you’ve done is wrong oo! Government, please come to my aid. NAFDAC has looted my shop!” she cried.

She further stated that several pairs of shoes and other valuables were also taken, stressing that the act was unjust.

As the video circulated online, many concerned individuals flooded the comment section to express their thoughts on the incident.

See some reactions below:

@EbunDele54183: “I hope this is not another antics to discredit NAFDAC. You made video of ransacked/ purported looted or raided shop. You need to do better by providing a corresponding video of the alleged looting. NAFDAC must get to the root of this matter though for integrity sake.”

@Handel_x: “The first reaction from Yorubas, if it’s about Igbo people, is to assume that the Govt is being set up? That’s bigotry in simple terms. You can’t hide it or suppress it… Given the oppressive and corrupt nature of Nigeria, and the target against the Igbos since the 60s.”

@princepark5252: “We are doomed as a Nation. And we are likely not going to do anything. If not how are we allowing all these messes to continue, no reaction and no action.”

@DatNaijaGuy1: ‘I strongly believe this is a calculated effort by these fake drug dealers to paint nafdac as evil and to get public support so as to slow down the good work nafdac is doing in it fight against fake drugs.”

@Maxzypriesty: “Nigeria is just a failed state. NAFDAC are a bunch of criminals. This is sad!.”

@Nithsmit: “We asked why will NAFDAC close the whole shops in a market and some people who God will continue to punish them came out to say otherwise. NAFDAC looted people’s shops and they must pay for it all. There’s no institution under Tinubu that’s not stealing.”
