Chelsea’s new signing, Nicolas Jackson finally got his first goal after three Premier League games as the West London side grabbed their first win of the new season.

Raheem Sterling got the match opener in the 17th minute when he picked up possession wide on the right and darted between Ryan Giles and former Chelsea player Ross Barkley. Amari’i Bell and Marvelous Nakamba closed him down as he entered the box, but he maintained his composure to pick out the bottom-left corner to score a brilliant solo goal.

After the goal, Chelsea continued to dominate the match but found it difficult to coordinate themselves upfront as the first 45 minutes ended 1-0 at Stamford Bridge.

In the second half, Chelsea maintained their dominance over the newly promoted side but they still couldn’t coordinate their attack until after the hour mark.

In the 68th minute, Chelsea scored a well-worked team goal when the club’s record signing Moisés Caicedo recycled possession to Malo Gusto, whose cutback is swept home by Sterling from eight yards out.

From there on, it was Chelsea that had the best of chances but failed to make the best of it until the 75th minute when Enzo Fernandez juggled the ball in midfield before finding Sterling with a long pass forward.

The England international received the pass and ran towards the box with the ball before he drove a deflected cross into the six-yard box, where Nicolas Jackson was on hand to tap in for his first Premier League goal.

Jackson’s goal sealed a 3-0 win for the Blues which pushed them to the 8th spot on the league table pending the outcome of other matchweek three games.
