How Mohbad dad told suspect Primeboy to run away – singer mum tearfully narrates (Video)

The mother of the late Nigerian singer Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, also known as Mohbad, has once again shed more light on the untimely death of her multi-talented son.

Recall that the fast-rising musician, aged 27, passed away on September 12, 2023, under unclear circumstances that have remained a mystery, prompting many to seek answers.

In a recent development, Mohbad’s mother further discussed her son’s death with Punch Newspapers, and the video of her interview circulated widely online.

In the viral clip, the late singer’s mother was seen in tears, raining heavy curses on those she holds responsible for her child’s death. Mohbad’s mother who is a devoted and committed follower of Jesus Christ vehemently stated that the individuals responsible for the killing of her son would meet a similar fate as Judas Iscariot did in the Bible, ending their own lives.

She said:

“It was God’s will for Judas to betray Jesus. Judas killed himself, that is the same way my child’s murderers will kill themselves.”

Speaking further, she recounted how her late son was her staunch defender, always standing up for her whenever his father attempted to cause trouble.

“Mohbad was the one who stood by me when his father threatened my life. He would always caution his father, that was in 2021.”

In the viral clip, Mohbad’s mother spoke on the role played by the late singer’s father in aiding one of the suspects involved in the case, Primeboy. She revealed how Mohbad’s dad reportedly instructed Primeboy to run for his dear life, shedding light on the father’s involvement in protecting the suspect.

According to her, Mohbad’s dad told her that he advised Primeboy to run away because he is a suspect in the case.

After Mohbad’s burial when his father came back home, I asked him where Primeboy was since it was claimed that he’s the one who fought my son. Mohbad’s father said he told Primeboy to run away so that he won’t get arrested because he’s a suspect. I asked him how he could say such a thing.”

Shaibu Husseini, the Executive Director/CEO of the National Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB), has announced that the Federal Government has approved the prohibition of depicting money rituals and glamorizing vices in Nigerian films.

Husseini disclosed this while speaking at a National Stakeholders Engagement on Smoke-Free Nollywood held in Enugu on Wednesday, May 22. The NFVCB boss emphasized that the prohibition of money rituals and glamorizing vices in Nigerian films has been approved by the Federal Government.

He said; “When my predecessor approached the former Minister of Information, Alhaji Lai Muhammed on the need to make a subsidiary legislation to curtail the display of smoking in Nigerian movies, he saw the need to include money rituals. Others included in the regulation are ritual killings and glamourising other crimes in order to further sanitise the film industry.

Today, I am delighted to announce to you that the Minister of Arts, Culture and the Creative Economy, Hannatu Musawa, pursuant to section 65 of the NFVCB Act 2004 has approved the regulation.

The minister has approved the Prohibition of Money Ritual, Ritual Killing, Tobacco, Tobacco Products, Nicotine Product Promotion and Glamorisation display in Movies, Musical Videos and Skits” Regulations 2024.

We have also forwarded the approved copy to the Federal Ministry of Justice for Gazette.”

According to Husseini, besides the health implications, glamourising smoking in films poses a negative influence on teens and young adults who constitute the largest segment of Nigeria movie viewers. He said that the board was set to undertake detailed enlightenment programmes in secondary schools, tertiary institutions, local communities, faith groups and other institutions.

saintavenue_ent1: Not a bad idea, but when them go ban looting public funds?

mz_bolajoko: But it is our reality, and the movies shows the bad end that comes with the rituals. How’s that a problem?.

obaksol: Oshey😂😂😂😂😂😂Hope they ban Looting of Citizens Funds too?

bright___:  Very good!! At least the illusion that money ritual can make you a billionaire overnight will reduce in our society.

iamninashai:  I think it’s a good move. Those movies portrait Nigeria and Africa in a bad light. Let’s be more creative and have better scenes.

princessdammy_:  Ban drug, corruption, money laundering, smoking, prostitution scenes too 😏.

iam_bmodel:  This federal government are always focused on things that are not important. So nah mountain Zion movies they want make we dey watch now?😏.
