An agreement have been reached between Fulham and Everton for the transfer of Alex Iwobi, who is now discussing personal terms with the Cottagers ahead of his trip to London.

Iwobi is keen on moving to Craven Cottage, hence, the player agreeing personal terms should not be an issue.

The Toffees have agreed to end their association with the former Arsenal winger a year before the expiration of his contract in exchange for £22m.

Fulham have offered Iwobi a five-year contract that will keep him in the English capital until June 30, 2028.

The 27-year-old was the most expensive Nigerian player sold when he joined Everton for a fee of £35m in 2019 before the transfer record was broken by Victor Osimhen following the striker’s move to Napoli the following season.

Iwobi has been an important player at Everton over the last few seasons but the Goodison Park outfit have decided to trade the versatile midfielder rather than lose him for nothing next summer after failing to make any headway in contract talks that dragged on for months.

Everton manager, Sean Dyche, has revealed that the Merseyside-based club are open to selling Super Eagles playmaker Alex Iwobi.

In quotes relayed by Liverpool Echo, the 52-year-old said: “There’s a few circling a few of our players, Iwobi’s one of them.
“The obvious thing that I think has been apparent, though I had to spell it out last week, the club has to look at the business side of it; a player with a year left [on his contract]
.”

The 9-time English champions have offered the Nigerian midfielder a contract extension but he seems not to be interested in his stay at the club.

The 27-year-old is currently injured and missed Everton’s defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers last weekend.

He will miss the Super Eagles 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers’ tie against São Tomé and Príncipe.
