Nigerian man wins ₦6m with ₦100 bet but loses everything in one night to virtual

A Nigerian man won ₦6 million on sports betting after staking just ₦100 but ended up losing it all overnight to the same betting platform.

This was revealed in a post he shared on his page via X (formerly Twitter).

According to him, he recalled a time when he staked ₦100 and won ₦6 million.

He noted that he was with a girl on the day of his big win and believed she brought him luck, even promising to surprise her the next morning.

However, driven by the excitement and belief that the girl was his good luck charm, he continued betting throughout the night.

Unfortunately, he lost all the ₦6 million he had won — along with the rest of the money in his bank account.

He wrote: “I just remembered when I was so into Bet9ja virtual. I lodged with one babe, that night I made ₦6m with ₦100. I strongly believed that girl brought me luck. I was so excited, I told her she brought me good luck. Mama head dey swell, I promised to surprise her in the morning.”

She gave me her best styles that night, the girl waist be like steering. I was having the time of my life. I stayed up all night, trying to ‘kill’ Bet9ja. Then suddenly, the narrative changed. I started staking with overconfidence because staking power don dey. I lost everything before daybreak.”

I deposited again to recover, but they collected it all. That night, Bournemouth beat Man City 12 times (home and away in 6 seasons) — how is that possible? Bet9ja finished me that night. Before it got any worse, I left the hotel around 5am, leaving ₦1k under the pillow for her.”

She couldn’t believe her eyes. She had thought I would double her pay or bless her with ₦200k. But I had to save myself. Things I’m not proud of. How would I explain that ₦6m, including my savings in Access Bank, were all gone? Quit betting today!!”

As the post circulated online, many concerned individuals flooded the comment section to share their thoughts.

@Life0f_prince: “The thing is, you kept your promise. You surprised her with a sprinkle of shock because even me gan I shock!”

@QudusOsoba: “I won 1m dem never verify my OPay it takes weeks I enter virtual kobo I no withdraw before dem verify am.”

@potiphar: “i know say if na me; as the money just reach 5.5m on a round figure, i no go touch am again.”
